I started making bracelets when I was about seven years old.
My cousins (and my aunt) taught me how to braid the string and do the right knots and just in general how to make a bracelet. Ever since then, it's been an unspoken tradition to make each other bracelets as gifts, and make matching ones, together. The bracelet pictured above is the most recent bracelet I've made. I recently learned how to make more complicated patterns, so I can't wait to make them, and learn how to make more of them with my family this summer.

Ever since I was little, I have always loved beads.
I remember making crafts and putting a massive glob of glue on the paper and just throwing beads on it. As I've grown up, I don't do as many crafts, but I still love making things with beads. My Grandma recently taught me how to make jewelry, like earrings and necklaces, with different types of beads-and I love showing her my new creations. To shoot this photo, I went back to my roots and just threw a bunch of beads onto this paper. I just tried to have fun with it.

In January 2021, I got a compression fracture in my spine due to an unfortunate skiing accident.
While definitely not the worst outcome for me, the healing process was pretty painful. I couldn't sit or stand for more than fifteen minutes at a timez(because it hurt to much) and I could pretty much only lie down on my back(which I then, and still, HATE). I was given what my dad would call, a "Wonder Woman brace." He only called it this because he thinks it looks like the typical Wonder Woman top. But without any of the Pizzaz; it was white, ad had nothing even remotely fun about it. So my family all chipped in to buy me hundreds of stickers. I definitely couldn't fit all of the stickers onto my brace, so I still have some lying around. Every time I find one, I remember how much everyone helped me, and I'm so thankful for everything my friends and family did to get me through it.

These are $7 sunglasses.
But to me, their worth is not in their price. I bought these sunglasses to take on my class trip to Chicago, and they remind me of what a great time I had, and of how much I love the friends who were with me. I went to a private christian school for nine years, it was one-class-per-grade, so I was(and still am) close to everyone in my class. There are fifteen of us, and I cannot imagine my life without any of them. Our Chicago trip was really a time for making new memories, and appreciating the people who we had spent almost everyday for a decade with. These cheap sunglasses remind me of all of those close relationships, and remind me that I will always have a support system and people I can rely on if I need them.

In fifth grade, we decided that it would be a great idea to pass notes in empty chapstick container-things.
I don't know how we came up with this, but it was definitely not one of our best ideas. We would stick little notes in these random lip balms, and then hand them off to each other, which seems like it would work right? Wrong. We were the least subtle girls in the entire world. We would laugh every time we looked at each other, and would make a spectacle out of every little thing we wrote to each other. We were so un-subtle, that the guys in our class found out after a few hours what we were doing. There were like twenty of these lying around, so any time any of us find one, we send a picture to each other and laugh about how dumb we were when we were little.
